Mr.S.G.Jayaraj was a pioneer in the transport field. He introduced buses and trucks way back in 1924 to provide a means of transport for the mountain dwelling people of Kodaikanal and its surrounding towns. Known as Kodaikanal Motor Union (P) Ltd, it grew into one of the largest fleets in the country. JP Roadlines is an offshoot of this fleet. It operates buses from Palani, Madurai and Periyakulam and Lorries as well.
